Bellamy Young will return to ABC later this month. And with a name like Margaret Honeycut, you know her character doesn’t want to make friends.
The woman formerly known as Mellie Grant is the one who plays a key role in Promised land (January 24, 9c), an “epic, generational film about a Latinx family vying for wealth and power in California’s Sonoma Valley.” And thanks to the just-released trailer, we’ve got our first look at her devious character in action.
In a nutshell here’s the show: Joe Sandoval (John Ortiz of the Messiah) runs a successful winery at a vineyard formerly owned by Margaret’s father. She plans to buy the company from him, but Joe quickly reminds her that now it’s really the company of his entire family, a family consisting of three children Joe and Margaret had with together. Throw in Joe’s tenacious wife, opportunistic children of their own, and a host of others scoffing for control… and you’ve got yourself a baby.
Promised land also stars Cecilia Suárez as Lettie Sandoval, Augusto Aguilera as Mateo Flores, Christina Ochoa as Veronica Sandoval, Mariel Molino as Carmen Sandoval, Tonatiuh as Antonio Sandoval, Andres Velez as Carlos Rincón, Katya Martín in the film. as Juana Sánchez and Rolando Chusan as Billy Rincón.
From ABC Signature, Promised land written by Matt Lopez, who executive produces along with Adam Kolbrenner, Maggie Malina and director of the pilot Michael Cuesta.
