New beginning love game Bridgerton The season 2 trailer was released by Netflix on Wednesday.
As seen in the video above, Lady Violet Bridgerton kicks off her competition for the heart of her son Anthony (played by Jonathan Bailey) by loudly and proudly declaring at a party, “This is the season where The viscount intends to find a wife,” much to his astonishment.
From there, Lady Danbury officially introduced Queen Charlotte – and all of us – to Kate Sharma (Sex Education’s Simone Ashley) and her sister Edwina (Alex Rider’s Charithra Chandran), who recently came to Ton from India.
Produced by Shondaland and adapted from Chris Van Dusen’s novel Julia Quinn, the second season of Bridgerton premiered on Friday, March 25 and, like the author’s sophomore book, obeyed Anthony’s obligation and desire to uphold his family’s name by looking for a wife. His quest for the perfect debutant goes awry until he starts flirting with Edwina. Soon after, Kate discovers the true nature of Anthony’s heartbreaking intentions and how they come into conflict with her romantic sister, and does everything in her power to stop their relationship.
But in doing so, Kate and Anthony’s verbal squabbles, breathless flirting and runaways with her lovable and trusting Corgi dog, Newton, only bring them closer. each other more. Unfortunately, said sparks complicate matters for both sides. Or, as lady Whistledown wittily remarked, “What happens when obligation conflicts with the heart’s true desires? Why, then, is there a real possibility of a significant scandal. ”
Ignoring the scandal, Violet tells her son that “true love” is worth the risk and comments that Anthony began to see emotions as a weakness after the sudden and tragic death of his father. Meanwhile, Kate wonders if the beautiful heel strike can keep her sister happy while playing pall-mall, dancing, and loving Anthony, even though she tries her best to look down on him.
Across Grosvenor Square, the Featheringtons welcome the newest heir to their estate, and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan) continues to keep her deepest secrets from those closest to her as her tireless search continues. The Queen for Lady Whistledown is stronger than ever.
Season 2’s team also includes Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Phoebe Dynevor (Daphne Basset), Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton), Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Lorraine Ashbourne (Mrs. Varley), Harriet Cains (Philipa Featherington), Bessie Carter (Prudence Featherington), Shelley Conn (Mary Sharma), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Martins Imhangbe (Will Mondrich), Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton), Calam Lynch (Theo Sharpe), Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton), Luke Thompson (Benedict Bridgerton), Will Tilston (Gregory Bridgerton), Polly Walker (Portia Featherington) and Rupert Young (Jack). And the great Julie Andrews, of course, provides the voice of Lady Whistledown.
