Victoria Derbyshire’s younger brother Nick, along with his 16 friends, contracted Covid after a Christmas dinner with 21 vaccinated

Victoria Derbyshire has revealed that her brother has contracted Covid after enjoying a Christmas meal with friends – despite having his third vaccination.
BBC Presenter Victoria, 53, revealed that her brother Nick, 51, tested positive for the virus after a night out with 21 friends.
Of the 21 partygoers, 16 of Nick’s friends have also tested positive for Covid – and they’ve all been vaccinated.
Taken to Twitter To share her brother’s horror story, Victoria revealed that her sibling is ‘feeling upset’ after being hit by the virus and is currently resting during the quarantine period.
Victoria urges her Twitter followers to be extra vigilant for the rapidly spreading variant of Omicron, which continues to sweep across the country ahead of the festive period.
The journalist asserted that she felt she had to tell her brother’s story to ‘raise awareness’ about the transmissibility of the disease.
Victoria shared: “My brother hit three times – the third was Pfizer 3-4 weeks ago. He just had Covid and feels ‘uncomfortable’ and is isolated.”
“Had a Christmas meal with a lot of sex partners last Friday – all vaccinated – 17 of 21 of whom have now tested positive,” she continued.
Victoria went on to emphasize that both she and her brother Nick are grateful he received his three Covid shots because if he hadn’t decided to get vaccinated, he could have been hospitalized.
After a fan replied to Victoria’s tweet: “If he is feeling rough from Covid after 3 stabs he must be glad he has them, otherwise he could be hospitalized,” the journalist said, “That’s right.”
Elsewhere, another follower suggested that being stabbed as a way of alleviating Nick’s symptoms meant he was not at risk of being hospitalized.
“That’s right – he would never be near a hospital but it shows how quickly transmission can be done with Omicron,” Victoria said.
“So sorry to hear about your brother. Shocking at the speed of this trip. Christmas may be canceled again – but well worth saving a life,” another replied. word.
Following the family’s revelation of Victoria Covid, the journalist shared an update on her brother Nick.
The BBC star admits that Nick ‘feels much better’ and is grateful for all the lovely messages of support he has read since his famous sister found out.
In addition to her brother’s experience, Victoria admitted that she wanted to share Nick’s diagnosis to raise awareness about the speed at which the new strain of Covid spreads from person to person.
“The purpose is to share about the transmission capacity,” she emphasizes.
