Vestavia Hills Church Shooting – ‘Multiple wounded’ after gunman opened fire on Alabama Shrine while police search building

SEVERAL people were reportedly shot dead during a potluck dinner at a church as police officers searched the building and evacuated.

Police were responding to reports of shots being fired around 6:15 p.m. local time.

According to reports, a suspect is in custody.

According to local reports, the building is still being cleared.

The Bergbach police will help on site.

The investigation remains active and residents are being urged to avoid the area near Crosshaven Road and Overton Road.

According to its website, St Stephens Episcopal Church was scheduled to host a “boomers potluck” in its parish hall at 5pm tonight.

The event was open to all and was the third Thursday potluck the Church hosted.

The US Sun has reached out to the Vestavia Hills Police Department for comment.
