RICKY HATTON trained with son Campbell ahead of his comeback fight against Marco Antonio Barrera and beamed: It’s a very emotional day for me as a father.
The 43-year-old boxing legend will return to the ring for an eight-round exhibition on July 2nd.
And Ricky shared his pride at sharing a ring with son Campbell, 21, as part of his training camp.
Sharing two pictures of the family sparring, the beaming dad wrote: “Today has been a very emotional day for me as a dad.
“Couldn’t be prouder of @campbellhatton anyway, as everyone knows…
“But I never thought I would see him turn pro and I especially never thought I would train with him at a training camp.
“Had a lot of proud times over the years…that was up there.”
Campbell shared similar images from the training session, adding: “A couple of laps with the old guy this afternoon.
“No stepping back from either of us…
“Really proud of how far he’s come over the last few months.

“He managed to get himself into great shape and got fit and healthy again.
“You definitely never lose track…”
The hitman who rose to fame between fights has left no stone unturned to prepare for his showdown with Mexican great Barrera.
Hatton Snr has given up alcohol and junk food and has stuck to a strict diet.
And he revealed he can now “hide behind a lamppost” after a sensational two stone weight loss in the past seven weeks – with pal Tyson Fury heaping the praise.
He told The Telegraph: “I was 14 [stone] six and i’m 12 now, two, i lost that in seven weeks which is amazing.
“It’s about exercise and nutrition, about eating the right things, when to eat the right things.
“I used to go to the pub a few nights a week. Now I don’t drink, I’ve had a few glasses of wine around the house for the past few weeks.
“My willpower is strong. I still have my nights out but they are rare and I think this Ricky is here to stay.
“I like eating out, I like takeaways, I like eating cakes, I’ll never be one of them, but I enjoy the fact that everyone comes up to me and says, ‘Ricky, you’re good looking.
“No one can say, ‘You fat ass.’ And now I can hide behind a lamppost – not behind a trash can.”
