LIFETIME continues to develop limited series based on the work of bestselling author VC Andrews after acquiring the rights to the author’s entire catalogue.
On July 8, 2023, the network brought “Dawn”, the novel by Andrews, to the big screen.

What is VC Andrews’ Dawn series?
Lifetime’s VC Andrews’ Dawn is the television adaptation of the Cutler Family series created by VC Andrews. It is a four-part film event focusing on the first four novels in the book series: Dawn, Secrets of the Morning, Twilight’s Child and Midnight Whispers.
The official synopsis of Lifetime website Reads: “Dawn by VC Andrews is a four part limited series that tells the story of Dawn Longchamp who, after growing up in humble circumstances, did very hard work Family including her devoted father Ormand and her older brother Jimmy, everything she loves is suddenly taken away.
“After discovering the shocking truth about the people who raised her, she is thrust into a new family whose dark and twisted secrets change the course of her life forever.”

The limited series premiered on Lifetime on July 8, 2023, and new episodes are coming out every week. Secrets of the Morning, Twilight’s Child, and Midnight Whisper will air on July 15, July 22, and July 2023, respectively.
Who is in the cast?
Accordingly meetingBrec Bassinger plays Dawn Longchamp while Donna Mills plays Lillian Cutler, Dawn’s grandmother. Jesse Metcalfe plays Dawn’s adoptive father, Orman, and Khobe Clarke plays her adopted older brother, Jimmy.
Bassinger told MovieWeb that casting Dawn was a coming full circle moment.
“When I first went to LA in 2013, I was 13 years old. I actually auditioned for the original 2014 version of Flowers in the Attic. I’ve gone quite a distance and met with the directors,” she said.
“When I auditioned for it, I was very familiar with it and the work of VC Andrews.”

- Elyse Maloway as Clara Jean Cutler, Dawn’s sister
- Dane Schioler as Philip Cutler, Dawn’s brother
- Corey Woods as Tricia, Dawn’s roommate at boarding school

VC Andrews’ Dawn will air every Saturday at 8:00 p.m. ET on Lifetime through July 29, 2023.
