Van der Vaart threatens to leave TV studio after Chelsea beat Werner compared to former Man Utd star Van Persie

RAFAEL VAN DER VAART threatened to leave a Dutch TV studio on Wednesday after making comparisons between Timo Werner and Robin Van Persie.
Werner scored twice for Chelsea as they drew 3-3 against Zenit in this week’s Champions League group stage.
The German striker has been heavily criticized for his lousy performance since joining the Blues in 2020, but delivered a stellar performance against the Russian side.
His second goal, in particular, got everyone talking after he circled the ball around Vyacheslav Karavayev before finishing neatly into the bottom corner of the goal.
Those who covered the match on Dutch radio station Ziggo Sport said the finish resembled the style of legendary former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Van Persie.
However, Van Der Vaart is smoking a warning: “If you compare Werner to Van Persie one more time, I will walk away.”
The 38-year-old has been extremely critical of the Chelsea man in the past and even describes him as a ‘blind horse’.
Speaking about the striker earlier in the year, the former Real Madrid and Tottenham player said: “Timo Werner is super fast, and maybe that’s a good thing to have in an away game when Chelsea are under pressure.

“But all he did was put his head down and run to his death.”
Since retiring from professional football in 2018, Van der Vaart has become one of European football’s most outspoken pundits.
Recent former midfielder Manchester United’s Harry Maguire photo shoot, said: “I talk about Harry Maguire too much, so I try to avoid him. But he is really bad. I have said this very often.
“I think it’s hard to believe. He’s not a top-class defender – and he shows this every week.”
