Watches are running low for holiday gift or card shipping — the expiration date for retail ground-service packages is December 15.
For first class mail, including cards, you have until December 17. Priority mail needs to be delivered by December 18. If you’re sending gifts overseas, the international deadline is Thursday.
If you can get your packages delivered this week, you’ll avoid a rush, says Robert Rhoad, USPS’s head of customer relations.
“This is going to be a great week to get out and do it,” Rhoad said. “Again, next week… it’s always our busiest week, so if you want to avoid the lines you can head to our lobby this week and avoid that busiest mailing week on next week.”
USPS is expected to send 2.3 billion messages next week.
