THE USFL premiered a new commercial that made fans think it was a trifle at The Rock and the XFL.
The wrestling legend and Hollywood superstar appeared to be the target of the USFL’s recent promotion.
The commercial included a speaker who said, “This is the USFL reincarnated from the OGs.
The promo ends with former NFL star and TV personality Michael Strahan saying, “You better recognize the real thing.”
It’s not hard to see how that could be perceived as an insult to rock, and fans online were quick to point it out.
One fan wrote, “Wow I’m taking a shot at the XFL and The Rock.”
Another said: “No way did the USFL commercial just say ‘Real Football Returns’ you must be kidding me.”
And another wrote: “The USFL needs to relax with this ‘real football is back’ stuff.”
Some fans loved the commercial and took shots at the former WWE star.
This fan wrote, “The USFL’s marketing is next level.”
