US law firm backs out of plan to remove Tiananmen Square statue in Hong Kong

A U.S. legislation agency has backed out of a plan to take away a statue honoring protesters from Tiananmen Sq. at a college in Hong Kong on Friday. 

Legislation agency Mayer Brown mentioned they’re not taking part within the elimination of the statue on the College of Hong Kong after they obtained backlash for the transfer, Reuters reported

The legislation agency “won’t be representing its long-time consumer (the college) on this matter. We’ve got no additional remark.”

Mayer Brown initially mentioned the transfer to take away the 26-foot-tall copper sculpture was a “actual property matter.”

The statue, which has been there for greater than twenty years, exhibits dozens of torn our bodies to honor those that died in the course of the pro-democracy protests in China in 1989 at Tiananmen Sq., in accordance with Reuters.
