Tributes poured in after news of Afrobeats star MohBad’s death at just 27 years old.

The Nigerian artist’s management confirmed the star’s death via X last night, with music manager Ovie tweeting: “Confirmed. Mohbad is dead. Sad, sad day. RIP.”

Later, a post on MohBad’s Instagram added: “It is with great sadness that today, September 12, 2023, we confirm the death of Promise Oladimeji Aloba PK/A Mohbad (Imole). We mourn the loss of the radiance that he carried within him. The family thanks you for your love and prayers and asks that you continue to respect their privacy during this difficult time. Imole has finally found peace.”

The singer rose to fame with hits like Ask About Me, Pariwo and Peace.

One heartbroken fan paid tribute to him, writing: “For the age of 27, his voice was too full and too mature. So depressing! Rest in peace, Mohbad!”
