EVERMORE ACTOR John Beasley has died in hospital at the age of 79, his son has confirmed.
The film and television star – whose cause of death has not been confirmed – was best known for his role on the series ‘Everwood’ in the early to mid-2000s.
His son, Mike W. Beasley, posted an emotional tribute on Facebook: “Man, you know it’s a part of life but it doesn’t make it any easier. I lost my best friend today.”
“They say you should never meet your heroes because they don’t turn out to be who you thought they were.
“This is so wrong. My hero was my father. Thank you for everything. I hope I made you proud. I love you more.”

Fans have taken to social media to pay tribute to the star following the tragic news.
One said: “He was like a big brother to us and we were sad to hear that today. We pray for the family.”

According to his sons, John died in Omaha, Nebraska after suffering from liver problems.

John was scheduled to make his Broadway debut in The Notebook this year.
He founded the John Beasley Theater and Workshop in his hometown of Omaha and ran it for 13 years.
John previously said, “We’ve changed a lot of people’s lives through theater alone.”

Born in 1943, John began acting in his forties after a long career as a railroad worker.
He began his career as an assistant coach in the blockbuster Rudy and has also appeared in The Mighty Ducks, Firestarter and Little Big League.
