Update Brook’s next fight with Eubank Jr in brackets, latest retirement Khan

Good morning boxing fans
Kell Brook ended a 20-year battle with Amir Khan by knocking him down – hopefully in safe retirement – after six brutal rounds.
Two decades after their first schoolboy got into a fight, 10 years after healthy competition turned cynical and 48 hours after it turned sinister with tit-for-tat accusations of racism. racial and personal insults, Brook won.
Khan was punched from column to post and was eventually rescued from his own bravery by a benevolent referee.
Brook bellowed: “I always knew it was going to happen. What a feeling. Now I’m back to the top and I have bragging rights.
“I’ve always known since I was 18 that I was a better fighter than him and tonight the fans got to see a big fight and I went up against him.
“I even had to wear different gloves on the ring.
“I was told they wouldn’t pay me if I didn’t get dressed.
“I even had someone knock on my hotel door at 4am to try to mess up my preparations.
“They try to get in my head all week but I take care of the business. I can live in peace with myself. Mom is back, baby. “
Khan hinted he could retire after the injury-time loss to Brook as he told Sky Sports: “I’ve had 40 games, won two world titles, fought in the US and around the world.
“I needed to sit down with my family. But that’s when I ended my career.
“The love for the sport is gone. In the ring, I don’t have that excitement and that push.
“It’s probably a sign that I should call it a date. But let’s see”
