UNIVERSITY bosses have urged staff not to say “Christmas” – as it could offend Snowflake students.

Instead, they should refer to the upcoming public holidays as “winter closing time.”

Andrew Allison of the Freedom Association said: “Universities should be places where ideas are freely discussed.

“Staff and students should ignore it and have a Merry Christmas.”

Toby Young of the Free Speech Union added, “University authorities are now getting into the mind control business.”

A university spokesman said: “The guidance is just that. W

“Orders are not ‘forbidden’ in Brighton, and neither is Christmas.”
