Undefeated Muhammad Mokaev meets former LFA champion Charles Johnson in the second octagon on July 23

UNDEFEATED Britain’s Muhammad Mokaev will be back in action in the UFC’s recent trip to London.
The most talked-about amateur in MMA history will return to the cage on July 23 against fellow UFC newcomer Charles Johnson.

21-year-old Mokaev made his long-awaited octagonal bow in the final card of the promotion in the English capital in March – he countered with experienced Cody Durden.
But The Punisher made easy work of the American, sending him blasting the roof of the O2 in just 58 seconds.
However, Mokaev will face stiffer competition with former LFA flyweight champion Johnson who boasts an 11-2 record.
A five-fight winning streak in which he recorded three stoppages earned Johnson the ticket to the UFC.

Mokaev’s journey to the Octagon began in Dagestan, Russia, where he left with his father at the age of 12 to seek refuge in Britain.
And just nine years after arriving in the UK speaking not a word of English, he’s making waves in the premier mixed martial arts promotion.
He told SunSport: “I want my story to inspire people, especially those from a refugee background.
“I’ve been with these people for a long time, I’ve been a refugee for ten years now.

“That’s why I was so happy to get my British passport, I couldn’t travel normally.
“People talk about refugees and say, ‘They come to this country and they don’t have a family and they’re happy with what the government gives them.’
“But to get into the country, you have to put yourself on the map so as not to be put in the same circle as all refugees.
“You have to stand out and believe in your abilities. Whether you speak English or not, you can build something here.
“If you could do it in your own country, you can do it here. I want to prove that and motivate these people.”
Not wanting to waste time, Mokaev has set his sights on beating a record held by Hall of Famer Jon Jones.
He said: “My goal is to become the youngest champion in UFC history. And I think I can do that next year.”
