BIRTHERS who fled Vladimir Putin’s invasion will be able to seek refuge in the UK without a visa if they have family in the UK.
Boris Johnsonn announced the relaxation of immigration rules as the United Nations warned that nearly 400,000 refugees had left Ukraine.
The Prime Minister also pledged another £40 million to provide medical aid to Kyiv after holding talks with President Zelenskyy and meetings with community leaders at the Ukrainian Catholic Church in London.
“The UK will not turn its back on us in Ukraine’s hour of need,” he said.
Immigration Minister Kevin Foster sparked outrage when he asked fugitives to come to the UK to pick fruit.
Responding to Labor MP Luke Pollard, he tweeted that they could try “our seasonal work programme”.
He then deleted the message Mr Pollard labeled “painful not knowing”.
The Labor MP said: “We need safe routes open.”
