Zelensky announced that the government’s current infrastructure could not support the number of Russian fighters it captured.

So far, Putin has lost 11 military commanders and 3 generals in his terrifying invasion – as the splashing campaign continued to inflict damage on Moscow’s forces.

The number of captured occupiers has reached a point where it is impossible to leave this matter to the works that we had before the war.

“Therefore, today the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine established the Headquarters for Coordination of the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

“Thousands of enemy soldiers captured or surrendered will receive from our state the treatment required by international conventions.

“But there are so many that there needs to be a special structure to deal with all the issues involved.”

This followed reports that Russian troops that had surrendered in Ukraine faced a firing squad when they returned, one of them claimed.

By Vladimir Putin Restraining the invasion caused morale in his forces to plummet in the face of fierce Ukrainian resistance.

Sobbing Russians were filmed telling their captors that they did not know where they were being taken.

But now people fear they face being shot by their vengeful commanders upon returning home, the Telegraph reports.

Speaking at a press conference in Kyiv, a soldier from the 2nd Motorized Rifle Division said: “In Russia, we are considered dead.

“I had a chance to call my parents and they told me a funeral had been arranged for me.

“If we were to be swapped, then we would be shot dead by our own people.”

It comes amid reports that Chechen fighter jets allied with Vladimir Putin are being used to prevent any Russians from retreating, in a brutal repeat of World War 2 tactics.

MP Fedir Venislavskyi, who sits on the Ukrainian parliament’s defense and security committee, said the units are made up of ‘Kadyrovites’.

The MP mentioned Ramzan Kadyrov, 45 years old, a close ally of Putin, the leader Russian province of Chechnya.

“There are reports that the occupation forces are creating ‘barrier detachments’,” he told local TV, Ukrayinska Pravda reported.

“That is, Stalin and Hitler’s methods of waging war are being repeated.”

The Chechen soldiers were called “hunters” and each of them is said to have been given a pack of cards with high-ranking Ukrainian officials that Moscow wanted dead.

As the Russian offensive falters, footage emerges of captured Russian soldiers crying as they claim they don’t know what will happen in Ukraine.

The intercepted radio messages showed that the army was disobeying orders from Moscow to besiege Ukrainian towns, and complaining about running out of food and fuel.

The recordings, obtained by British intelligence firm ShadowBreak, include a soldier sounding as if he were crying.

In another recording, a soldier loses his cool as he asks when food or fuel will arrive.

Other footage shows the moment a Russian soldier surrenders in tears as The Ukrainians fed him and called his mother.

The shaking man was seen swallowing a cup of tea and cake as he was calmed down by a woman who handed him her phone.

The young prisoner of war then kissed when his mother answered and burst into tears.

Ukrainians now claim to have killed more than 12,000 Russians since Putin sent troops into their country.

Dramatic footage has emerged over the past day showing the moment a column of Russian tanks was destroyed by a Ukrainian ambush near Kyiv.

The attack is said to have claimed the life of another senior Russian commander as Vladimir Putin’s forces stormed the capital.

According to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the officer killed was Colonel Andrei Zakharov, commander of a tank regiment.

His image was awarded the Medal of Courage by Vladimir Putin himself in 2016.

His death adds to the number of Russian commanders killed during the invasion of Ukraine, including three generalswith activity described by one insider in the Kremlin as “a bunch of trash”.
