Long term forecast for Saturday to Monday
The Met Office has issued its predictions for what’s in store this week.
Forecasters have said there will be “generally calmer conditions to begin with, with plenty of fine, sunny weather for most. Cloudiest conditions likely for the far north with occasional light rains, perhaps more persistent in Shetland.
“Some potentially heavy showers may cover the far south or south east over the weekend, but most areas remain dry. Uneasy conditions are likely to return in the new week, with rain and strong winds blowing from the west.
“Temperatures are generally close to average but locally warm, mainly in the north and west, and feel warm in the sun but are still cool at night. Then stable weather will return, likely bringing drier conditions to the western areas.
“More cloudy conditions and showers may remain in the east.
“Temperatures generally above average but likely normal to fairly cool in the Northeast.”
