UK promotes oil, gas and nuclear to cut dependence on foreign energy

BRITAIN will build more nuclear power plants and green-light more oil and gas drilling in the North Sea to become fully energy independent within a generation, Tories said.

The ministers will swear today kicking Vladimir Putin’s sore spot by boosting our domestic supply as soon as possible.

Boris Johnson’s new energy strategy to be revealed next week

Boris Johnson’s The Fresh Energy Strategy, to be released next week, will see renewable projects step up and more investment in wind and solar.

Tory Chairman Oliver Dowden will tell the Conservative Spring Conference in Blackpool today that Britain must get rid of its dependence on dirty hydrocarbons from evil Russia and solely on our fuel.

He will promise to achieve net zero and “save the planet” as promised but will insist: “We don’t want to Vladimir Putin take over it while we’re working on it. “

The new strategy will include “developing new nuclear projects and re-stimulating new oil and gas exploration in this country as we transition”, in an appeal to more British companies.

Mr. Dowden would say: “British people want to see a bit of conservative pragmatism rather than zero dogmatism. We are Conservatives. We exist to preserve.”

Last night, Business Minister Kwasi Kwarteng said he had been chatting with the Prime Minister about more cash help for households struggling to pay their bills – ahead of next week’s spring announcement.

“We want to protect vulnerable consumers from high energy prices,” he told GB News

“I’m sure it’s in front of the of the prime minister mind.”

And he vowed to ignore Extinction Rebellion’s claim and simply “turn off the lights on the North Sea”.

He added: “We think we should decarbonize but we should do it in a realistic way, in terms of affordability and security – that’s our plan.”
