ALEX Pereira has demonstrated his impressive track records in the gym ahead of UFC 291.
The 36-year-old UFC star moves up to light heavyweight for his showdown with Jan Błachowicz in Salt Lake City.
Pereira is a former middleweight champion but lost his title to Israel Adesanya at UFC 287.
The Brazilian was a latecomer to promotion and has only fought five times in the UFC.
But he’s an absolute fan favorite – and appears to be in phenomenal shape ahead of his comeback.
The kickboxing star will face Polish thug Błachowicz on July 30 at UFC 291.
And since losing to The Stylebender in April, he’s improved significantly over the summer months.
Pereira looks stronger on the shoulders, chest and abs and appears to be a business-ready man.
ESPN MMA ran a head-to-head comparison of his physique transformation, showing his progress over the past few months.
The snapshot was labeled: “Pereira looks HUGE ahead of his debut at 205 pounds.”
After seeing his new figure, one fan gasped, “That guy definitely looks more intimidating at middleweight.”
Another said on social media: “Pereira looks terrifying here.”
A third added: “He’s a lot healthier which is good for him!”
And fellow fighter Dillon Danis revealed: “I’ll tell you, now that I’ve been training with him, he’s one of the strongest people I’ve ever felt.”
Adesanya is confident his former opponent can easily make the move to light heavyweight.
The reigning middleweight champion has lost twice in his career – to both Pereira and Błachowicz.
But he predicts the chiseled Brazilian will emerge victorious when the pair enter the Octagon on Saturday night.
Adesanya told him Youtube channel: “For me it is stylistically an exciting duel.”
“These are two guys I fought, two guys who both beat me.
“It is interesting to see how these encounters will play out.
“Jan will take his time and patience and get as many readings as possible.
“But if Jan does what I think he’s going to do, he’ll get caught with a left hook.”
“I don’t think that’s enough over the distance. If so, Jan wins.”
