UFC News: “Pretty much it’s better than my UFC deal”

Kevin Lee has revealed that “pretty much everything” about his deal with Eagle Fighting Championship (Eagle FC) better than the contract he had with UFC.

Just a few weeks ago, it was announced that Kevin Lee was made his UFC debut. It was a move that stunned many mixed martial arts fans and experts, especially with the fact that he had been identified as a future champion for so many years.

Alas, his departure was quickly confirmed by Lee himself, who noted that he had a parade of offers on the table, with majority speculation that he would end up with Bellator or PFL.

However, Kevin Lee chose to take a different path when he signed with Eagle FC – the promotion program run by former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

While talking about how realistic his deal is in an interview on Time MMA with Ariel Helwani, Lee has the following to say:

“Pretty much everything about it is better than my UFC deal. Pretty much anything. I mean, the only difference is there is no PI [Performance Institute]. What does that mean to me, you know? Even their facility where they are operating the FTX Arena is beautiful. It has everything you need. It’s the studios, they’re thinking outside the box, they have more freedom to do things. Honestly, there’s nothing better about the UFC than that. Maybe eyeballs to fight on ESPN, that’s huge, but a lot of people get lost in the shuffles these days. ”

Why was Kevin Lee kicked out of the UFC?

The unfortunate reality for Kevin Lee is that he was let go due to poor form in the octagon. His professional MMA record is currently 18-7, and in his last seven fights he is 2-5. Victory over Edson Barboza and Gregor Gillespie is impressive, but in his last two outings he has been knocked out in two separate weight divisions.

Losing to Charles Oliveira at lightweight didn’t look so bad after all. However, Kevin Lee himself will tell you that Loser to Daniel Rodriguez in the welterweight division is seen as proof that the division may not be the best one for him.

On top of that, Lee also tested positive for Adderall in an issue he’s been keeping an eye on ever since has been repaired. UFC News: “Pretty much it’s better than my UFC deal”
