A SUSPECT has been arrested in connection with three gruesome stabbings that have rocked a small university town.
Carlos Dominguez, 21, was arrested Wednesday afternoon at Sycamore Park, where one of the stabbings in Davis, California, took place.
Davis police said the brazen attacks all took place within a week and rocked the University of California campus.
The first stabbing happened on April 27, when police found homeless man David Breaux with multiple stab wounds on a park bench in the small town’s Central Park.
Two days later, Karim Abou Najm, a 20-year-old computer science student at UC Davis, was found stabbed to death in Sycamore Park, authorities said.
The horrific stabbings continued when a 64-year-old woman was stabbed through her tent at a temporary camp on Monday.
The unidentified woman survived the attack.
The stabbings shocked UC Davis students, who, according to SFGATE, began arming themselves with rocks as rumors of a serial killer circulated in the area.
“It’s scary. At night the whole place is closed,” UC Davis student Colin McCarthy told the San Francisco-based publication.
“As soon as it gets dark, nobody is outside. I let a friend go home because they were so worried about what was going on.”
McCarthy added, “Davis never sees anything like that.”
