Tyson Fury slams Man Utd’s ‘prima donnas’ and says Cristiano Ronaldo could be BAD for the team

TYSON FURY has slammed the ‘prima donnas’ at Manchester United and blamed the players for the team’s mistakes.

The 33-year-old Gypsy King doesn’t believe management is to blame for United’s plight but said the dressing room needs a strong leader like Sir Alex Ferguson.

Fury admitted he’s tired of watching United because they often lose when he visits Old Trafford.

And Fury blames a lack of hard work from the squad – pointing out that some players believe their fame and status give them a divine right to play.

The world heavyweight champion told The Mirror: “I’ll be coming to Old Trafford a little bit more now that I’m retired, although honestly they lose every time I go there to see them. And I don’t take second place, I don’t lose, I don’t do all that shit.

“It’s win or nothing so it’s crazy watching United at the moment because I don’t understand why these people aren’t chasing that ball for 90 minutes.

“A lot of people blame the managers and coaches but at the end of the day there are too many prima donnas at United and the best thing that could have happened was an eviction like what is happening. You have to pull yourself together.

“They need someone who’s strict, like Sir Alex Ferguson, who tells them what to do and when they’re not listening he’s like, ‘That’s the bench for you, I don’t care how good you are or how famous you are You don’t play until you decide to work hard.

“The word ‘team’ means everyone pulls their own weight, they don’t rely on someone else to score the goals or run for them.”

Fury was furious after United’s humiliating 4-0 defeat by Brighton towards the end of the season.

He urged squad members to retire but there are some players he admires like Cristiano Ronaldo.

But he believes the superstar’s presence is unsettling the rest of the squad and claims the youngsters are being overshadowed by the Portuguese.

Fury added: “When you have a superstar like Ronaldo everyone relies on him to score and if he wasn’t there they would score the goals themselves like they did the season before last.

“I’m not saying he’s a bad asset, he’s a great asset, but sometimes with a star player he carries the team and the young people get overshadowed by all of that, they don’t get their chance to shine because they’re great Ronaldo ‘ is on the court.”
