Tyson Fury reveals ‘risky’ alternative fight as Oleksandr Usyk talks collapse against ‘biggest puncher in martial arts’

TYSON FURY revealed he has a “risky” alternative fight in mind should talks with Oleksandr Usyk collapse.
The WBC champion and Usyk have been negotiating the first undisputed playoff in the four-belt heavyweight division since the New Year.

And although April 29 in Saudi Arabia is looming as the new target date for the historic unification, Fury has backup options.
He named ex-UFC heavyweight Francs Ngannou – the “biggest puncher in martial arts” – as a wildcard replacement for Usyk.
Fury told GiveMeSport: “If Usyk doesn’t happen like this month, I’m going to say, ‘So let’s go ahead and do Francis Ngannou’.
“And I want to put big Francis in a cage with 4 ounce gloves and swing some big bombs with him.
“It’s risky because Francis was once considered the greatest puncher in martial arts.
“Well, with 4-ounce gloves, it just takes one swipe and it’s all over.”
Ngannou, 36, is a free agent after not renewing his UFC contract and also has interest from Deontay Wilder, 37, and Anthony Joshua, 33.
Fury’s never-before-seen proposal of a hybrid rules fight using 4-ounce gloves in the boxing rules cage would be a first.

But acc ESPNTalks for his undisputed super fight against Usyk, 36, are still ongoing.
The Ukrainian WBA, IBF and WBO belt holder is said to have agreed on a financial package with Saudi Arabian hosts.
Now Fury, 34, must do the same or the fight could end up at Wembley Stadium, where he knocked out Dillian Whyte, 34, in front of 94,000 last year.
