TYSON FURY is ‘very proud’ of Ricky Hatton’s incredible weight loss.

Hatton is preparing to fight before an exhibition fight for the first time in ten years on July 2nd.

The British boxing legend had a front row seat to Fury’s heroic journey back to the world title after ballooning 28 STONE.

And now it’s the Gypsy King who watches with pride as Hatton, 43, drops the kilos before returning to the ring.

Fury, 33, posted on Instagram: “Get up my boy!

“Very proud of @rickyhitmanhatton for losing all that weight and getting fit again.”

Hatton is one of the British coast’s most celebrated fighters, having lost just three times in 48 fights.

Two of those were against the greats Floyd Mayweather, now 45, and Manny Pacquiao, 43.

But the last fight of his career came two years after losing to Pacquiao when he lost to Vyacheslav Senchenko, 45, in 2012.

Now he’s preparing for a comeback on July 2 against Mexican icon Marco Antonio Barrera, 48, who retired in 2011.

The fight is believed to be eight rounds in Manchester where Hatton became a sell-out star.

He said: “I’m doing this for fans who have struggled being locked down with Covid.

“I got a call asking if I would come back to do this for the fans who have been locked down post Covid for ages.

“Covid was tough for me, for everyone. I also want to inspire people who have had mental health issues.

“They can look at me and say, ‘He fought and now look at where he is’ so they can do it too.”
