Tyson Fury became furious after Anthony Joshua demanded “an extra £3.7million” in money for the Usyk rematch

TYSON FURY went absolutely ‘berserk’ when Anthony asked Joshua for more money so he could face Oleksandr Usyk first.

A last-ditch effort to set up an undisputed heavyweight title fight between Fury and undefeated Usyk fell through just hours before the WBC champion’s showdown with Dillian Whyte entered the purse bids.

Promoter Frank Warren claimed the Saudi showdown collapsed because AJ wanted an extra “£3.7million” to pull out of his rematch with Usyk, a demand that The Gypsy King soared back in February.

In an interview with iFL TV, Warren said: Tyson is a big man, he can speak for himself. I don’t have to tell you

“But that was it. I got a call from him [and] he got angry and said, ‘No, forget it!’”

Warren claims Joshua’s alleged request for more dosh was “the camel’s back.”

He said: “What stopped that fight, that deal, was AJ came in at the last minute and asked for another $5 million.

“And Tyson said, ‘Enough is enough. I don’t want to hear anything, I don’t want to talk about it anymore’.

“And that’s the truth and that’s what happened.

“Everyone worked hard to get it where it was, but when he asked for that extra money, it was the last straw.”

AJ promoter Eddie Hearn claimed a desert dust broke between Fury and Usyk as the Brit wanted a warm-up fight before taking on the slick southpaws.

But Queensberry Promotions boss Warren has dismissed his Matchroom rival’s claim, saying: “It’s all irrelevant and I don’t care what Eddie Hearn said.

“Eddie Hearn says a lot of things and he’s part of the problem of why those things don’t cross the line.

Tyson Fury defeated former sparring partner Dillian Whyte in April

“A year ago when we were trying to put together a fight between Joshua and Tyson, every week he said ‘It’s done, the contracts are done’, even though we all signed an agreement not to comment until then.”

Last time out, Fury defeated Dillian Whyte at Wembley – and threatened to resign.

However, he soon made a U-turn – with the temptation to fight AJ or Usyk, who were too good to turn down.

While Joshua’s rematch against Usyk is now set for August 20 in Saudi Arabia.
