TWO men have been charged with murder tonight after the body of a missing teenager was found after a six-week search.

Kieran Williams, 18, was found dead in Sunderland on June 2 after going missing on April 18.

Two men, both aged 19, have been charged with murder.

They will appear before the judges in South Tyneside on Monday morning.

Two other men, aged 20 and 28, and a 46-year-old woman were also arrested in connection with the investigation.

The three suspects have been released on bail pending further investigation, reports the Mirror.

Kieran’s family sounded the alarm after he failed to return to his home in Esplanade West, Sunderland on April 18.

Detectives began an extensive search, conducting house-to-house investigations, sifting through hours of security cameras and analyzing technical data to find him.

His body was found on Thursday.

Detective Inspector Matt Steel, who led the investigation into Kieran’s disappearance, said: “Our thoughts go out to Kieran’s loved ones at this unimaginable time.

“Over the past few weeks we have conducted an extensive investigation into the disappearance and alleged murder of Kieran and I would like to thank everyone for their continued patience and cooperation.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank the team of officers and staff who have worked tirelessly on this case and everyone who has come forward with information to support our inquiries.

“Now that charges have been brought against these two suspects, I would like to ask the public to refrain from speculation – both on social media and in the wider community – that could jeopardize the trial.”

Kieran’s mother Tracey Williams previously made a heartfelt appeal for her son’s safe return in a poignant post.

She wrote: “Son please come home or at least let us know you’re okay. We’re sick and we just want to know you’re okay.

“Please, if anyone has seen our Kieran lately, I would ask you to come forward and inform the police. I just want to know that my boy is okay.”
