That means it’s taller than the Statue of Liberty and Big Ben.

The larger asteroid is named 2021 YQ and is expected to be 1.3 million miles from Earth at its closest approach.

The smaller asteroid is called 2021 YX and it will come about 2.4 million miles away.

Both of those distances seem pretty far away, but they’re not spatially.

Nasa considers anything that passes within 120 million miles of Earth as a Near-Earth Object (NEO).

Thousands of NEOs are tracked by scientists to see if they are on their way to collide with our planet.

Any fast-moving space object within 4.65 million miles is considered “potentially dangerous” by cautious space organizations.

A small change to their orbits could spell disaster for the Earth.

The smaller space rock will shoot past us first tomorrow at about 27,000 miles per hour.

Nasa expects this to happen in the early hours of January 5.

Then the larger Asteroid 2021 YQ will shoot past us more than 10 hours later.

It is predicted to travel at speeds of up to 33,000 miles per hour.
