TV ratings for the Beijing Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony

In the latest TV ratings, NBC’s Friday reruns of Beijing Winter OlympicsOpening ceremony averaged 8.7 million viewers and demo ratings 1.5 – 16 and 30% off from the previous numbers for “2020” Summer Games Opening Event in Tokyo (and even lower than the opening ceremony for 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang).

However, that audience count certainly doesn’t include toad fish of the Peacock stream, and of course there was plenty to dominate on a very quiet Friday in both measures.

Among the Winter Olympics’ precious Friday challengers, CBS’ Famous brother attracted 2.3 million viewers and rated the demo 0.4, while Fox’s Friday Night SmackDown (2 million / 0.5) dwindling by the week, providing one of the smallest audiences in… at least for a short while. (I left my abacus at the office.)

Want the scoop on any of the shows above? Ha, good luck with that!

Live + Same-day numbers reported in our ratings column Not reflects the overall performance of a show, due to the enhanced use of delayed playback across DVRs and streaming platforms, along with out-of-home viewing. Instead, these numbers (Nielsen’s fast national players, unless expressed as finals) are intended simply to illustrate trends or best comparisons. Warning: Content can be hot!
