Werner ready to go
Chelsea striker Timo Werner is reportedly ready to LEAVE the club – but it will take a £33m bid to catch him.
The 26-year-old has been in and out of the team this season after signing Romelu Lukaku for £97.5million, he writes JOHN HUTCHINSON.
Both have not really convinced for Thomas Tuchel’s team this season.
And according to German website Sport 1, Werner is ready to leave Stamford Bridge.
The former RB Leipzig star has spoken to his agent Volker Struth about plans to “leave London”.
Werner recently admitted Germany’s tactics suit him better than Tuchel’s at Chelsea.
The shy striker scored a rare goal in last weekend’s 2-0 win against Israel.
Werner has surprisingly scored six goals in his last six internationals – compared to none in his last eight Premier League games for Chelsea.
When asked about this quirk, the ex-RB Leipzig ace said: “There are differences in the way football is played at Chelsea and here.
“Maybe he suits me better with the national team.
“I always have chances to score here, I can score goals.
“I feel very comfortable here.”
Werner has scored seven times in 28 games for Chelsea this season, with just one goal coming in the prem.
