Trump’s attorneys on Friday filed a motion for preliminary injunction towards Twitter and its CEO Jack Dorsey. The submitting states that Twitter had been “coerced” into banning Trump.
“Coerced by members of the US Congress, working below an unconstitutional immunity granted by a permissive federal statute, and performing immediately with federal officers, Defendant is censoring Plaintiff, a former President of the US,” the submitting reads.
Twitter declined to touch upon the submitting.
Trump, who usually communicated through Twitter all through his marketing campaign and presidency, was booted from the platform after the Jan. 6 assault on the U.S. Capitol, which noticed his supporters storm the constructing, delaying the certification of the 2020 election. After the riot, Twitter decided that Trump’s posts posed “the chance of additional incitement of violence.”
