Troy Deeney: Bellingham should snub Liverpool as Real Madrid superstar…he will captain England until the next World Cup

FINALLY, Birmingham has a role model to look up to in Jude Bellingham.

As someone who was born and raised there, I can say that the city as a whole didn’t have much to celebrate.

We are the working class. We are always written off. We’re never talked about like London or Manchester.

So when you have a local boy like Jude, who came through the system, got everything right and then did what he did, scored in the Champions League and played for England when he was 19, that’s special.

He really is the pride of the town.

This is how the local kids will want to be, even my 13 year old son.

If he was near Jude for more than three minutes, he would likely pass out.

It’s just testament to the whole family including his 17 year old brother Jobe who I currently play the blues with.

Really solid people and great personalities.

Mom and Dad managed to produce two young, not only great footballers for club and country in the U18 and senior national team, but also wonderful people.

When No 22 Judes retired after leaving Birmingham for Borussia Dortmund the club was a laughingstock but now look.

Everyone says, “This guy is amazing.”

I do think he’s a superstar. I wouldn’t be surprised if he were the face of the FIFA game next year and I think he’ll be captain of England in three to four years.

And when he’s at the World Cup in Qatar and all eyes are on him, he’ll only play better.

The deeper the water, the better he swims.

We’ll all be like, “Oh my god, look at this talent.”

It might be similar to how the likes of Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen burst onto the global stage with England.

That was always in Jude’s plan and he’s been working toward it for years.

You don’t get there just by mistake or luck.

So once it becomes a reality, nothing will faze you. It was all part of the master plan.

His parents have kept him balanced and grounded, but at the same time he’s not a robot, he’s not stiff. He gives you a bit in interviews but he never forgot who he is and where he came from.

He’s still humble enough to return to Birmingham to speak out about the city and the role certain players had for him.

Sometimes you just have to sit back and clap. I’m someone who likes to give people their flowers while they live.

This family is special and as a parent I want to be like their parents. It’s a pleasure to be around her.

There is no doubt in this young man’s mind.

He has unwavering faith and I see that on the pitch.

I watched him against Germany and when England were 2-0 down he was the one who pushed people forward and pressed. The word to describe its performance is “flawless”.

It’s just slightly different in the way he carries himself.

He demands the best but can do it with a smile.

In my day and before, captains would have barked and yelled, but these guys can do it with a laugh and a smile at the same time. From what I’ve been told he’s been like this since he was 16, he drives games and is a really positive presence off the pitch.

He is now associated with big clubs.

His family is very methodical, so they’ll sit down and think about the pros and cons of each move, but Jude will have already made up his mind.

He doesn’t have the attitude to sit down and have a few more years of development but I don’t see Liverpool as the move.

I can understand why he would play there and why it would work, but I just have a feeling that Spanish football will suit him. If Real Madrid come in I can’t imagine him refusing.
