“Triple H’s first capital L” – WWE fans react in shock as Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah seal the women’s tag team crown on Raw

RAQUEL RODRIGUEZ and Aliyah are the new Women’s Tag Team Champions after a dramatic Monday Night Raw.

The WWE pair were huge underdogs for the crown as they faced off against Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky in Pittsburgh.

But in a shocking development, the unpopular duo won Bayley’s new understudy in front of a stunned crowd.

Fighting for their teams first, Sky and Aliyah traded quick near misses before Rodriguez came on.

With Aliyah knocked out at ringside, it was left to Raquel to keep the match alive.

And she avoided interference from Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss, and Asuka, giving her partner time to recover.

Aliyah snuck back into the ring and rolled up a deflected Dakota Sky for a pin – stunning both the crowd and her opponents.

The pair grabbed their belts and embraced backstage after the grueling match.

Raquel told WWE.com, “This means everything to us.

“We both worked too hard at NXT to come to Raw.

“Raw to the main event — and then winning the tag team title — that’s incredible.”

Aliyah continued, “Coming here tonight I really didn’t think I deserved this match.

“But have [Raquel] by my side, I believed 100 percent that I could take it [the belts].”

‘HIS FIRST BIG L’

Some WWE fans were left confused and overwhelmed by the shock result, after many predicted an easy win for Sky and Kai to give them a big boost going forward.

And social media turned their ire on WWE’s new Head of Creative Triple H.

One fan raged: “Triple H’s 1st L since I’ve been in creative. That made no sense.”

While another said: “First booking error since TripleH acquisition.”

And a third added: “Major L… on the other hand they won’t keep those titles for long…”

Others were instead confused by the manner of the win as Aliyah spent most of the game outside of the action.

One asked, “So Aliyah’s gimmick is to just sit out the whole match and come in at the end to get a lucky pinfall?”

And another said: “U [sic] It doesn’t have to be a sign to see that Aliyah and Raquel have no talent.”

But not everyone was disappointed, with many fans praising the bold story arc.

One commented, “Unexpected stuff is good… why do you want predictable shit?”

While another said: “WINE!!! That was well deserved!”
