Tributes paid to England 1966 World Cup winner and Wolves legend

ENGLAND 1966 World Cup hero Ron Flowers has died aged 87.

The previous midfielder, who was a member of Sir Alf Ramsey’s squad, performed over 450 video games for Wolverhampton Wanderers throughout his spectacular profession.

Wolves broke the news the news of his demise earlier on Twitter.

He wrote: “We’re deeply saddened to announce the passing of membership legend and vp Ron Flowers MBE on the age of 87.

“An enormous on the pitch and a gentleman off it.

“There can be many individuals remembering Ron at this time and all of our ideas are with those that knew and beloved him.”

England additionally paid tribute to the late star.

They tweeted: “We’re saddened to listen to of the passing of Ron Flowers MBE on the age of 87. He gained 49 caps for the #ThreeLions and was a member of our 1966 @FIFAWorldCup-winning squad. All of our ideas are along with his household and mates.”
