Officials have now revealed that the doting dad may have accidentally received the killer drug.
Philip probably had no intention of buying fentanyl and might have thought it was something else, police said.
Fentanyl is 100 times stronger than morphine and used only by hardcore drug addicts in the US.
According to police and autopsy reports from The Times, Philip’s tragic death was officially ruled an accident.
Philip used to work as a director for an international IT company in Kent when he booked a family vacation in Florida last year.
The father of one had been enjoying a drink in his resort’s bar before falling ill and later dying.
Autopsy and police reports revealed that Philip took a taxi, in which officers later found a bag of drugs.
The bag was “packaged as an unknown illegal drug” and contained a powdered substance.
Officials believe Philip may have received the bag near American Boulevard in Orlando — near where he was staying with his family.
The blood test taken after his tragic death revealed lethal levels of fentanyl in his system.
Just two milligrams can prove deadly for those who abuse the powerful drug, experts say.
The US DEA has reported on the dangers of the drug, which is said to have killed nearly a million people in the United States over the past two decades.
They said, “We must take every opportunity to spread the word to prevent fentanyl overdose-related deaths and poisoning from taking countless American lives every day.”
In a statement, grieving wife Dorlyn said: “On May 23rd we woke up late and had no theme parks to visit that day.
“It was just supposed to be a relaxing day. We had the best lunch, we drank champagne like we did when we lived in Dubai.”
The family then went on an “amphibious car ride” and ended their day around 5:30 p.m. when they returned to their hotel.
Dorlyn then said her husband wanted to have another drink alone at the Yacht Club Hotel on Epcot Resorts Boulevard.
Two hours later, she heard a knock on her hotel room door and was told her husband had been taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
The worried wife asked hotel staff if her husband had heat stroke or a heart attack.

Unfortunately, when Dorlyn arrived at the hospital, the doctor informed her that Philip had died at 8:06 p.m.
Doctors told Ms Weybourne her husband had died of cardiac arrest.
