Tragic plane crash in Colusa County kills pilot, FAA investigation ongoing in California

A pilot has died in a plane crash in California, police have confirmed.
The deceased aviator was spotted Thursday by Colusa County deputies near McDermott Road on the Glenn County border.

Authorities received a report of a plane crash shortly after 11 a.m.
Willows Fire Department officers responded and discovered the downed plane bursting into flames.
The Willows Fire Department had extinguished the fire when other responders arrived.
The Colusa County Sheriff’s Office responded with Glenn County officials and found the pilot’s body.
His name has not yet been released.
The plane is said to have sustained significant damage.
The Colusa Country Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the crash.
