Tragedy hits Miami Lake after five people are found dead in heartbreaking ‘murder-suicide’

The bodies of five people were found dead with gunshot wounds in what police are investigating as a murder-suicide in a Florida home.

Authorities discovered the remains of two men and three women at a home in Miami Lakes early Friday.

Miami-Dade Police responded to the home after receiving a call from a relative trying to contact tenants at the home.

Detective Alvaro Zabaleta was unable to enter the home through the front door, Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said officers entered the residence through an unlocked window.

Inside, authorities found one person with an apparent gunshot wound.

After searching the property, police found four other bodies, all dead from gunshot wounds.

Authorities said crime scene evidence near the body of a man found inside suggested he had been the gunman before taking his own life.

“You can only imagine for the family members who were here that it is extremely tragic to find five people who are lifeless there,” Zabaleta told reporters.

The relationship and the names of the victims were not disclosed.

The authorities see no danger to public safety.
