Tottenham ‘launch £14m Memphis Depay transfer bid but Barcelona ace and Man Utd flop don’t want Premier League return’

TOTTENHAM have reportedly made a £14m bid for Memphis Depay.
The Dutchman is wanted by Spurs to further improve their attacking options next season.

However, Man United’s flop does not want to return to the Premier League and fight for his place at FC Barcelona.
Depay has just one year left in his current contract with Barca, which has made them approve his exit.
And following the signing of Raphinha, the extension of Ousmane Dembele’s contract and the arrival of Robert Lewandowski, next season’s playing time could be limited.
Spurs have already loaned Clement Lenglet from Blaugrana this season and are now hoping to land a second deal with them.
Spurs are unwilling to climb to the £17m asking price set by the club but are willing to pay £14m, as reported by Sport Witness.
When Depay joined him last summer, he was seen as the club’s main striker, a position which is under significant threat following the January arrival of ex-Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and now Lewandowski.
Tottenham have already held talks with player representatives but are yet to make a significant breakthrough.
The 28-year-old is said to be comfortable at the Nou Camp with his priority being to keep playing for the club.

Depay would be the seventh signing of the Spurs window following the arrivals of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma, Richarlison, Lenglet and Djed Spence, who have yet to be confirmed but leaked photos have surfaced.
Meanwhile, they have been pushing for Frenkie de Jong to leave the club and seal a £72m transfer to Man Utd following Barca’s spending spree.
