Tottenham are set to ‘contact the England star’ in surprise move after talks about signing Brennan Johnson, valued at £50m.

TOTTENHAM are considering a late move for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze as talks with Nottingham Forest over Brennan Johnson falter.
Ange Postecoglou’s side are a long way from Forest’s £50m valuation for Johnson.
And time is running out to finalize a deal ahead of tomorrow’s 11pm transfer deadline.
The 22-year-old Welsh star had a successful debut season in the Premier League last season.
He scored eight goals in 38 games last year and helped Forest survive.
And the winger’s performances have earned him admiring looks, particularly from coach Postecogolou.
Tottenham were keen to snap up Johnson but were unable to meet Forest owner Evangelos Marianakis’ £50million estimate.
Brighton have come the closest yet, having had to turn down a £43million offer this week.
Spurs are also expected to forego a loan deal for Ansu Fati, with the Barcelona star moving to Brighton instead.
And according to the IndependentAustralia head coach Postecoglou is reportedly ready to opt for Palace playmaker Eze as he is on the lookout for more attacking talent.

However, Palace will be very reluctant to sell their star player so close to the sale deadline and will likely demand in excess of £60m.
The midfielder has developed at Palace since joining from QPR in 2020 and is believed to be close to making his debut England Lid.
The 25-year-old was Palace’s top scorer with 10 goals last season.
And Palace are ready to offer the midfield magician a substantial pay rise of around £5million a year to tempt him to stay.
However, a deal will likely include a release clause, leaving the door open for a small move at a later date.
