TOTTENHAM and England legend Teddy Sheringham expects ‘top pro’ Harry Kane to stay in Qatar this summer ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
Kane was the subject of offers from Premier League champions Manchester City last summer and had been hoping to make the move.
But City were unable to agree terms with Spurs for the England captain and a deal fell through.
Following England’s final heartbreak at Euro 2020 against Italy, Kane returned to the club and has been shooting gaps in his first seven Premier League games.
A goal and an assist in the 3-2 win against Newcastle on 3 October was followed by another six-game losing streak in the league.
But since Antonio Conte’s arrival in November, Kane has scored 15 goals and provided seven assists, which has helped Spurs finish in the top four with a game to go.
And Tottenham and England legend Sheringham is tipping Kane to stay at the club beyond this summer as he’s a happier Harry again.
Speaking to SunSport ahead of a Masters football event in association with Bookmakers.com, Sheringham said if he expects Kane to stay: “I do, I do now, yes. Last summer was very different from this summer.
“And I think things have changed at Tottenham. His body language has changed.
“Whether he got used to the whole situation or not, I don’t know.

“But now if I look at his body language and behavior I think he will stay at Tottenham.”
Sheringham also believes it will be important for Kane to establish himself at club level in order to lead England to this year’s World Cup.
Brilliantly managed by Gareth Southgate, the Three Lions are looking to build on a World Cup semi-final and a Euro final, hoping to go all the way.
Kane, of course, played a crucial role in England’s attempt to win their first major tournament since winning the 1966 World Cup.
Sheringham continued: “Yes, of course [it’s important to be settled].
“If he had gone into a World Cup year like he played at the beginning of the season, a lot of questions would be asked.
“I think he’s got that little chunk of his career behind him – and that’s understandable too.
“There was a lot of speculation and talk week after week about ‘he’s going or not.’
“I think he has fully proved that he is a top professional.”
