Famed rapper Tory Lanez was allegedly behind the gun that shot Megan Thee Stallion in the foot at a party in 2020.

On Friday, December 23, 2022, the jury convicted Tory Lanez of all three counts and found him guilty.

Tory Lanez going to jail?

Tory Lanez was found guilty of all three counts brought by this accuser, Megan Pete, better known as rapper Megan Thee Stallion.

These charges included assault, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, and firing a firearm with gross negligence.

He now faces up to 23 years in prison and possible deportation to Canada.

The trial came two years after Megan Thee accused Stallion Lanez of shooting her in the foot.

What happened in the case between Tory Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion?

The opening speech in the trial of rapper Tory Lanez began in December 2022.

Megan and her attorneys allege Tory Lanez shot her after an altercation that began in a vehicle outside a party they left in Hollywood Hills.

What followed was a he-said-she-said ordeal on a very public stage.

During the trial, Assistant District Attorney Alexander Bott said the jury should believe Megan’s fear: “Why would she lie?

“She was subjected to a torrent of hatred. For what? Because she came forward as a victim of domestic violence?”

Lanez claims he didn’t shoot Megan and was framed by her production team.

Lanez defender George Mgdesyan called Megan a “liar” in his closing statement.

“She lied about everything in this case from the start,” Mgdesyan said. “She lied here under oath.”

Mgdesyan also claimed that his client was instead trying to “protect” Megan from her former friend Kelsey Harris.

Both musicians used song lyrics and social media to claim that the other lied about the events.

While Megan was testifying in court on Wednesday, December 21, Lanez said he would not take the stand in his defense.

Has Tory Lanez released a new album?

Tory Lanez released an album titled Daystar, his legal first name, in September 2020.

The album, the artist’s fifth studio release, served primarily to deny allegations by Megan.

Because his album was so clearly about Megan, many critics refused to review it.

In the first verse of the album’s first song, titled “Money Over Fallouts,” Lanez sings, “Can’t cry now;
