Top 8 most valuable football clubs in the world revealed, with Man Utd at the top of Premier League sides despite Glazers ownership

MANCHESTER UNITED remain the most valuable club in the Premier League despite the unpopular ownership of the Glazer family.

The Americans have stolen an estimated £1.1bn from the Red Devils since buying the club in 2005 and haven’t invested any of their own money in the past decade.

This has meant performances on the field have fallen sharply since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013 – whilst the state of the club’s facilities has also been derided.

Despite the need for a facelift for Old Trafford and Carrington and United’s lack of a Prem or Champions League title over the past nine years, the Red Devils remain one of the strongest sporting brands in the world.

A study conducted by Forbes found Man United to be worth £4 billion.

This rating is behind only Real Madrid and Barcelona in world football and makes the Red Devils the 19th most valuable sports team in the world.

Madrid is the No. 1 football club on the Forbes list, with the Spanish powerhouse owned by its club members being valued at £4.5bn.

Like their La Liga rivals, Barcelona are owned by their club members and remain valued at £4.4bn despite their staggering debts.

After Man United, Liverpool is the next football club on the list.

The Reds are owned by American John Henry, who bought the club for around £400m in 2010.

They are now worth a staggering £3.9bn.

Bayern Munich, owned by club members, is valued at £3.75bn – just ahead of Man City.

The reigning Prem champion is valued at £3.72billion, having joined the big boys table since being bought by Sheikh Mansour in 2008.

Paris Saint-Germain were bought by Qatar Sports Investment for around £86million in 2010 but are now worth significantly more.

The French champions, who have boasted superstars like Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe, as well as lucrative partnerships with the likes of Jordan Brand, are now worth £2.8bn.

Next is Chelsea, who were bought by Todd Boehly for £4.25billion earlier this year.

Forbes actually rates the blues significantly FEWER than what the American paid – and claimed they were worth £2.7billion.
