Tony Ferguson opposes Khamzat Chimaev for saying he represents the United States

Tony Ferguson took aim at Khamzat Chimaev after the ‘Chechen Wolves’ announced that he represented the United States. ‘El Cucuy’ drew parallels between Chimaev and the later Russian, Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Ferguson highlighted Khabib Nurmagomedov’s past problems with weight reduction and asserted that Khamzat Chimaev was also unable to gain weight.

Khamzat Chimaev recently took to Twitter to appeal to Colby Covington. Chimaev confronts ‘Chaos’ – who is known to represent the United States of America proudly. ‘Borz’ joked that he, not Covington, represents the United States. Chimaev declared:

“You don’t represent America, I represent America, you represent cowardice”

you don’t represent the United States I represent the United States 🇺🇸 you represent cowardice ️

Tony Ferguson – who has repeatedly demonstrated his Mexican-American heritage on the global MMA scene – has brought himself into the Chimaev-Covington feud. Ferguson tweeted:

“F**k You Do. Ya Can’t Gain Weight Like Fathead @TeamKhabib. Sit down, shut up before I make you my woman. Where Were You When The Pandemic Started? # Merica’MF -CSO- “

@KChimaev Fuck you do. Ya can’t even gain weight like a fat person @TeamKhabib 💯 Be quiet before I make you my bitch 🎩 Where were you during the start of the pandemic? # Merica’MF -CSO- https://t.co/VVDgmRm1yE

Nurmagomedov has lost weight once in his MMA career – weighing in at 158.5 pounds before his UFC 160 lightweight fight with Abel Trujillo. During his time as a professional MMA fighter, ‘The Eagle’ competed in the light and heavyweight divisions.

Khamzat Chimaev has never skated in his MMA career. Chimaev has competed in the welterweight and middleweight divisions throughout his professional MMA journey.

The consensus is that Tony Ferguson is alluding to Khamzat Chimaev’s brainstorming before his most recent game. Chimaev defeated Li Jingliang in his first fight at UFC 267 in October of this year.

And even though Khamzat Chimaev weighed just under the 171-pound limit in the non-title bout, he was accused of leaning on the towel held in front of him to weigh less on the scale. Chimaev later denied these allegations.

Tony Ferguson is on his way back, while Khamzat Chimaev is on the cusp of a UFC welterweight championship

While the dream match between Tony Ferguson and the retired Khabib Nurmagomedov Having broken up on five separate occasions, their rivalry is as fierce as ever. Ferguson has always insisted that he is ready to fight Nurmagomedov. Meanwhile, the Russian boxer emphasized that he has no intention of competing in MMA again.

‘El Cucuy’ hopes to get back into winning form and recover from the recent three-match unbeaten run. On the contrary, undefeated Khamzat Chimaev has set his sights on UFC gold. Many believe Chimaev is one of those victories from a UFC welterweight championship.

Considering Tony Ferguson competed as a welterweight, it wouldn’t be too difficult for him to grow to 170 pounds and fight Khamzat Chimaev. Currently, neither Ferguson nor Chimaev’s next opponents and return date have been revealed.
