Tonight’s Savannah Guthrie returns to the morning show but reveals she’s embarking on a new trip overseas this week

TODAY’s Savannah Guthrie has returned to her post but has announced that she will be attending the coronation of King Charles III this week.

The Today Show crew chatted to NBC’s Molly Hunter, who was covering the scene live from Buckingham Palace.

“Hey Savannah, we can’t wait for you to be here at Buckingham Palace later this week,” said Molly as she went through some of the latest details of the royal coronation.

After Molly went through the latest announcements, it was time for Savannah and her crew to take over.

Savannah had a big announcement to share that Molly had already hinted at.

She said: “And again, we’re taking this show to the streets!”

She continued: “We will be in London from Friday. You can actually watch the entire coronation live. Get up early with us on Saturday morning, right here on NBC.”

The coronation airs early in the morning at 5 a.m. ET.

Craig Melvin asked Savannah what the first thing she would do upon arrival.

“Um, I like to go to a pub when I’m there. Sorry you embarrassed me there, but that’s the truth. I like a burger and a pint.”

Savannah giggled and moved on to the next segment.

Meanwhile, Savannah was absent from the show on Friday morning.

She was replaced by Craig Melvin as she had spent the night with friends at a swanky event.

Craig took a seat at the desk next to Hoda Kotb on Friday.

He usually joins Savannah and Hoda about 30 minutes into the program’s start.

But today that responsibility went to Sheinelle Jones.

Both Sheinelle and Craig usually host the third hour together, along with Al Roker and Dylan Dreyer.

When a presenter isn’t around, fans usually wonder where they are, but Savannah sorted it out pretty quickly.

She posted photos to her Instagram story to show she attended the Jennifer Fisher x Maison Close event.

The New York City event was held to promote Jennifer Fisher’s jewelry line.

At the event, Savannah wore a short black leather dress with a lace trimmed hem.

She wore a blazer over the dress to protect herself in the chilly New York air.

Savannah added silver open heels with a chunky black and red heel.

The Today host accessorised with an anklet and a combination of two necklaces: a long black one and a gold one underneath.

She posed in photos with Jennifer and Vanity Fair Editor-in-Chief Radhika Jones, both of whom also appeared in black and leather.

Before heading to the fancy event, Savannah got cheeky with one of her co-hosts on Wednesday.

She slammed back at Carson Daly, who claimed she wasn’t that into superhero movies.

Carson went over the topics for the PopSTART segment of the day on Wednesday’s episode.

One of the biggest announcements of the day was the new trailer for The Flash.

The film sees the return of Michael Keaton as Batman.

The presenters all watched the trailer with bated breath.

At the end of the trailer, Al said, “Wow!”

“Savannah would literally rather watch grass grow than watch a superhero movie,” Carson claimed after the clip ended.

Savannah immediately replied, “That’s not true!”

“I’m so excited!” exclaimed Al.

“Me too, I’m so looking forward to it,” Carson said.

Savannah didn’t explain why Carson made the comment, but it was likely due to her lack of interest in superhero films.
