The Today Show looked a little different on Wednesday as there was split screen between Savannah and Hoda Kotb.

Hoda was reporting from the Today studio in New York while Savannah was in DC, still cheered on by SOTU.

Savannah left abruptly mid-program Tuesday to catch her flight for the event.

But Hoda wasn’t left alone in the studio for too long, as Craig Melvin joined her about 30 minutes into the program.

The two hosts were not joined by a third host in the studio on Wednesday.

It is not yet clear when Savannah will return to the New York studio.

Sheinelle Jones and Al Roker later joined the show’s hosts for the weather, pop culture segment and out on the court.

WHERE WOULD SHE GO?

Savannah left the newsroom about halfway through the morning show on Tuesday.

But the hosts didn’t let her absence go unnoticed as they let viewers know where she was going.

Savannah, 51, and Hoda, 58, started the show behind the desk and covered the morning news.

Craig, 43, got to them about 15 minutes earlier than usual.

Less than an hour into the show, Savannah disappeared from the podium, leaving only Craig and Hoda.

After a commercial break, Hoda explained her co-host’s absence.

“Welcome back everyone. Savannah had to leave a little early. She has Washington’s State of the Union. She’ll cover that for Craig,” she shared.

Craig and Hoda continued to talk about the Super Bowl and Rihanna’s halftime performance.

Fan favorite Sheinelle Jones joined the two hosts as Hoda brought up Savannah again.

“Sheinelle Jones joins us at the table. Savannah is on her way to the airport. She’s going to Washington, DC to deliver the State of the Union address tonight,” Hoda revealed.

“Busy day,” Sheinelle said.

Sheinelle and Craig had double duty on Tuesday as they also hosted the third hour of Today.

UNLOCK

Savannah added to her ever-growing repertoire when she helped cover President Biden’s State of the Union address.

To mark the occasion, Savannah made sure to offer viewers a fresh new look as she shared her hair transformation on Instagram.

The broadcaster went to NBC News alongside Lester Holt to specifically cover the address.

On Tuesday, the President delivered his second State of the Union address, in which he mentioned gun reform, abortion rights, climate change and the fentanyl crisis.

Savannah got her hair cut the day before Biden’s speech, which the host went for a “chop” as her typically longer style was cropped between her chin and shoulders.

On her Instagram Stories, the former lawyer teased her followers with a photo of the ends of her hair lying on the floor.

The shorter bob style was achieved with the help of her hairstylist, Kelly O’Neill, whom she thanked in a picture of the couple after the hair transformation.
