Tom Parker reveals he was pumped for The Wanted in behind-the-scenes video with Max George in the midst of his cancer battle

THE Wanted star Tom Parker revealed his excitement for his upcoming show in a behind-the-scenes video with bandmate Max George.

The singer, who is currently battling incurable brain cancer, has joined the band in a number of concerts across the UK.

Tom, 33, can be seen relaxing backstage on a large leather chair with a pillow behind his head as he and close friend Max, 33, prepare to perform.

Looking to gather energy for an evening performance in Birmingham, the father-of-two turned to the camera and smiled as his friend filmed.

“We’ll be in Birmingham in about half an hour – Tommy?” Max can be heard talking to the camera before panning it towards Tom.

“Ready for tonight?” he asked his close friend, who quietly replied, “That’s right,” before he encouraged: “Come in!”

It comes shortly after Max revealed that Tom will have to use a wheelchair on the shows as he continues his battle against cancer.

Max took care of his poor friend, whom he called a “warrior”, while they were on tour together.

He’d joked the night before: “Tom just ate his ninth meal of the day.” Tom laughed as he ate chicken and salad.

He also sent a message to Kelsey, Tom’s wife, saying: “As long as you know Kels, the chips must not be touched.”

Max also shared a snap of the couple lying in bed sweetly, commenting that they were having a “Netflix night”.

Tom appeared with bandmates Jay McGuinness, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Max on stage for their hit Glad You Came.

He missed the start of the group’s Most Wanted hits tour last week to undergo pioneering treatment for his brain cancer in Spain.

But a few days later, he made it to the show, nodding and smiling as his bandmates performed alongside him.

The father of two has undergone multiple rounds of chemotherapy and radiation since being diagnosed with an inoperable tumor in 2020.

He has previously said he is shocked at the lack of treatment and funding for cancer patients in the UK.

A chemotherapy drug called Temozolomide has been for 20 years the standard NHS treatment for glioblastoma patients.

But the treatments he recently received at a private facility in Spain include time in an oxygen machine, massage and a special diet.
