Tom Brady’s retirement hits one fan hard as a $3 million trading card’s value plummets and is dubbed ‘worst buy ever’

A trading card featuring NFL superstar Tom Brady’s image, bought for over $3 million, has plummeted in value since his retirement.
The seven-time Super Bowl winner, 45, retired in February after playing 23 seasons in the league.
Brady is widely regarded as the greatest player of all time, having enjoyed illustrious careers with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
But one fan was deeply saddened by GOAT’s decision to quit football for good after two decades at the helm.
In 2021, a Brady 2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Rookie Ticket Mint 9 rating card was auctioned for $3.107 million.
It bears Brady’s own signature and is considered one of the rarest NFL collectibles ever.


The unnamed recipient paid a record price for the NFL card, surpassing the previous high of $2.25 million.

That means its after-tax value has reportedly fallen by $2.4 million since it was purchased two years ago.
NFL fans were quick to take to social media after the shock report, and many were convinced the rating was just a blip.
One wrote: “Until this card sells… it’s all speculation.”
Another said: “I don’t see how this works. This is one of Brady’s best cards.”
While a third added: “This map is 100% going to keep rising forever. Might take some time.”
Off the pitch, Brady recently appeared less than impressed after being duped by his kids during a family vacation to Disneyland.
As the GOAT prepares to embark on a career in broadcasting with Fox Sports in 2024.
Brady signed a ten-year, $375 million deal with the network last year.
