In the video announcing his retirement, Tom Brady said: “Hey guys, I’ll get right to the point. I am finally retiring.

“I know the process was a pretty big deal last time, so when I woke up this morning I just hit record and let you guys know first. It won’t be long-winded.

“You only get one emotional retirement essay and I used up my last year.

“Really, thanks a lot guys. To each and every one of you who support me, my family, my friends, my teammates, my competitors, I could go on forever.

“There are too many. Thanks guys for allowing me to live my absolute dream. I wouldn’t change anything. I love you all.”
