Immediately after retiring, Brady turned his attention to promoting the film he is set to star in.

“Now that I’m retired I have time to visit @80forBrady four times today,” Brady tweeted Friday.

Commenters on the post poked fun at Brady for possibly bluffing his resignation to promote the film.

One commenter said: “I find it amazing that in the nearly 100 hours I’ve spent consuming news about Brady’s retirement, no one has mentioned the clever marketing move of announcing the retirement just before the film opens .”
