Today’s Savannah Guthrie calls on guests to “not give a straight answer” as she interviews Harrison Ford
TODAY Savannah Guthrie has called guests who have not given her direct answers in interviews.
The 51-year-old presenter caught up face-to-face with beloved Indiana Jones star Harrison Ford last week.
Savannah asked the 80-year-old Ford to appear in the second season of the western drama series 1923.
She asked, “There are rumors of a second season. Will you be There?”
Ford replied, “Yes,” which prompted Savannah to joke, “I love it. You know what? It’s not like interviewing a politician.”
Savannah was a White House correspondent for NBC News from 2008 to 2011 and a host of MSNBC’s political show The Daily Rundown from 2010 to 2011.
The broadcaster thanked the screen star for giving her a “direct answer”.
Fans were thrilled that Ford gave the morning show’s host a definitive answer.
One person told Savannah, “Probably so refreshing to get direct answers.”
Uploading to Today’s Instagram account, the moment was captioned: “Giddy up y’all. Harrison Ford doesn’t play shy.”

Last week, she sarcastically described her day as “normal” after they taped the interview.
‘A NORMAL DAY’
Savannah shared a clip showing her canned conversation with Ford and said she managed to keep it “professional and cool” until he left.
She was later seen stretched out on a bed with her palm resting on her chest.
Days before the interview aired, Savannah released a teaser clip and captioned it, “Interviews with Harrison Ford. Keep calm and professional. Until he walks out the door.”
Based on the wording of her post, some viewers thought she meant the actor was no longer “calm and professional” during the interview and stormed out.
Christina Sharkey Geist, wife of Sunday Today presenter Willy Geist, said: “Omg I read that wrong and thought something went wrong and he walked out the door mid interview! Phew.”
A fan asked Savannah to clarify what she meant by “until he walks out the door.”
Another claimed: “I thought he left you too.”
Despite the confusion, dozens gushed about their enthusiasm for the interview.
Numerous fans gushed over their excitement before the interview aired.
Viewers said they were “jealous” that Savannah managed to land the scoop, while others said they couldn’t wait to tune in.
